i. What have I learned so far?
I have learned alot in terms of grammar rule and the structure of writing a summary, reader response and essay problem. However, sometimes I would take to forgot to apply rules such as SVA, or even tenses to be used in the essays I have done.
ii. What have I improved on in terms of content, language and structure of academic writing?
From the writings I have done for summary till essays problem now, I have improved in term of highlighting the main points in the article that are relevant to the questions. Also, providing relevant evidences to support the main points in the writings.
Similarly, for structure wise, I felt that my writings are good in terms of the flow of the content.
For language wise, I still required more improvement to be done as language is the area which pulls my marks down in the writings.
iii. What would I like to learn from Week 10-12?
From Week 1 till now, Misty had already covered on grammar rule and writings (summary, reader response). So, in the mist of learning problem essay outline now, I would like to improve on my problem essay as well as the referencing format . Besides, I would like to improve more on my language as it constitute the most marks in the writings.
iv. What are my weakness(es) that I need/plan to work on?
Most importantly is to work on the language in terms of my grammatical mistakes and vocabulary used in writings.
v. Comment on your feedback on the summary and reader response:
The feedback given to me on summary and reader response was clear. However, some of the comments given , I do not really understand but I still try to make changes in term of reconstructing my sentences. Some comments I do understand but I do not have the confidence in the changes I have made.
-Then remember I asked you to rate your grade for content, organisation and language?
For content and organisation in summary and reader response, I have graded myself a B. Based on Misty's marking, it was quite accurate with a score more 20 marks for both of the area. However, I hoped to aim to an A for these 2 areas if possible.
For language wise, I have grade myself a C as i know my standards in term of language in writing. Based in Misty's marking, it was accurate. Of course, i would try to brush up on the language in writing since it constitute the most mark in assessment. On the another hand, I am glad to see improvement made from the summary to reader response.
-Do you think audio and written feedback is a good way to get feedback?
Both are a good way to give feedback to the students. Of course, I would prefer to have both. Based on the previous experience on audio feedback, it would be better if Misty's has illustrate some examples and explain on how the correction should be done. Written feedback has always been good and to have a audio feedback to backup the written ones, it will be effective for students' learning and understanding.
-Do you think it would help if you had audio and written feedback in your other courses?
It will have to depend on what kind of feedback to be received. Sometimes, a face to face consultation will be better than any of the ways.
